One place I found extremely inspirational was Mambukal Resort which is found on Negros Occidental. There is the opportunity to climb a set of 7 waterfalls all with beautiful vantage points where you are able to take your time and shoot some awesome pictures.
Is about 60 minutes by bus from downtown Bacolod City. You can catch a bus every 3 minutes from Libertad Market. These are pretty basic buses, but since all the windows are open they tend to have a great breeze and the scenery is breathtaking en route to Mambukal Resort. The one thing I had wished was that I was taking the trip in a personal motor vehicle so I could stop and shoot pictures along the way, and take my time, but I know for a fact I would never have reached the place in a day since I would have constantly stopped to take pictures.
Mambukal Resort have rooms for you to stay overnight if you choose to want to, plus there is a swimming pool which is warmed from the Volcano not that far away from the Resort. This area is picturesque, I would plan on spending a couple of days here to explore. The day I was here it was raining and we got caught on the trail and never made it past waterfalls number 3, but it was well worth the trip to that point.
You will need to sign a Liability Release which is simply you signing in a book that you understand you could fall and die, which is how it was put to me. Being a scuba diver, I simply shrugged and said lets go as I have heard that warning so many times it does not phase me any longer. The guide we had was fantastic, he gave a fabulous tour not only of the trail and the waterfalls, but of the Resort itself. These guys on make a few pesos a day so I was sure to tip him well.
If you are going to be in the area, this place is certainly worth the visit.Tags: Bacolod, Bacolod City, Camera, Canon, Canon 7D, Mambukal Resort, Mambukal Waterfalls, Nature, Negros, Negros Occidental, Philippines, Tropical, Water
